Six in a row – Clifford cup stays at Nittawela
The champion rugby outfit did it again when they won the oldest rugby silverware on offer the Clifford Cup for the 18th time (the last six in a row) defeating challengers Havelock Sports Club by 10 points (1 goal, 1 penalty) to 5 (1 try) in the final of the Dialog Clifford Cup rugby tournament match played at the Bogambara Stadium, Kandy yesterday. At half time Kandy led 7-5.

T20 glory turns Samuels from villain to hero
Marlon Samuels will leave Sri Lanka on Monday having finally emerged from the shadows of a controversial career to revive West Indian cricket with a splendid all-round display. Samuels starred with bat and ball as the West Indies ended a 33-year wait for a world title, when Darren Sammy's men upset Sri Lanka by 36 runs to win the World Twenty20 in Colombo on Sunday night.

Bronze medal-winner Lance Corporal UDP Pradeep Sanjaya of the 4th Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment was felicitated by the Sri Lanka High Commission, London, when the Paralympic team and the officials and coaches visited the Mission on Friday.
